Our story

Founded by a Downeaster who got tired of the chains

Acadia started in 2009 when Wade Thibodeau, a lifelong Hancock County guy, spent a season working for a big national pest company and didn't like how they treated either the bugs or the customers — heavy chemicals, hard sells, and a different tech every visit. He went out on his own with a simple idea: hire local people, use the gentlest thing that actually works, and stand behind the job.

Sixteen years later, our techs cover the coast from Ellsworth to Machias and beyond, we've protected over 5,200 properties, and we still believe the best pest control is the kind you forget you have — because nothing ever gets in.
