Free in-home estimates · Rockland · Camden · Penobscot Bay (207) 555-0391
No guessing, no pressure

Your estimate starts with a tape measure in your living room.

Flooring and decks priced over the phone are guesses. We do it the right way — an in-home visit where we measure every transition, check the subfloor and moisture, and bring samples to see in your actual light. You get a real number, not a range that balloons mid-project.

The process

Four steps, and the number we quote is the number you pay.

Precise field measure

We measure each room and transition by hand and account for waste, so the order is right and you're not paying for a padded square-footage guess.

Subfloor & moisture check

We assess what's under the surface — the single biggest reason floors fail — and tell you up front if prep is needed.

Samples in your light

Stain and plank look different in a Midcoast morning than under store fluorescents. We bring samples home to you so there are no surprises.

Clear, itemized estimate

Material and labor broken out plainly, with options at different price points and no fine-print add-ons. The number we quote is the number you pay.

Freshly refinished antique wide-pine floor glowing in a historic Maine farmhouse room

Flooring and decks priced over the phone are guesses. We'd rather earn the job with a fair number measured in your living room.
How we've done it since 2004
Why we measure in person

What an in-home visit catches that a phone quote can't.

01

The subfloor under the surface

Moisture, soft spots, and out-of-level rooms decide what will actually work — and they're invisible until someone gets on their hands and knees to look.

02

The transitions and the waste

Doorways, hearths, stairs, and odd corners change the order. Measuring by hand means the material is right and you aren't paying for a padded guess.

03

How it looks in your light

A stain that's perfect in the store can read cold or orange at home. Samples in your own windows mean no expensive regret later.

04

The honest trade-offs

Sometimes the right answer is to refinish what you have, or choose LVP over hardwood. We'd rather tell you that in person than upsell you on a chip.

It's free and there's no obligation

We'll bring the tape and the samples to you, anywhere across the Penobscot Bay region. Measuring your space and checking the subfloor costs you nothing.
