what i photograph

A handful of things, done with real care.

I keep the work focused so every session gets the attention it deserves — from the morning of a wedding to a quick portrait by the harbor.

01

Weddings

A full, unhurried day of coverage — getting ready, the vows, the toasts, the last song. I work quietly and let the day lead, so what you get back feels lived-in rather than posed.

Engagements

An hour somewhere that means something — a favorite trail, the boat, the back porch. It's the easiest way to get comfortable in front of the camera before the wedding, and you end up with images worth framing.

Portraits & families

Soft, natural sessions for growing families, new babies, and milestone years. We pick good light, let the kids be kids, and come away with pictures that actually look like your people.

Seniors

Relaxed senior portraits around Camden and the midcoast — a session that feels like a walk, not a photo shoot, and ends with a gallery that's all you and nothing stiff.

Some recent light.

A few favorites from the last while — weddings along the coast, portraits in the long evening light, and families being entirely themselves.

the approach

Unposed, unhurried, and entirely yours.

A way of working built around how the day actually feels — not a shot list someone handed me.

i.

I shoot for light, not poses

I'd rather catch you laughing in good light than march you through a list of stiff setups. The result is warmer, and it ages a lot better.

ii.

Quiet on the day

You'll mostly forget I'm there. I move softly, read the room, and stay out of the way of the moments that matter most.

iii.

Midcoast through and through

I know where the light falls at six o'clock in Camden, which coves stay quiet, and how the weather turns. Local knowledge shows up in the pictures.

about

I'm Elena — the one behind the camera.

I grew up on the Midcoast, where the light off the bay does something you don't find many other places — soft in the morning, gold and long by evening. I started photographing weddings here twelve years ago and never wanted to photograph them anywhere else.

My work is quiet and natural; I'm far more interested in the real laugh between the posed ones, and in light that flatters without anyone having to try. If your day feels like it belongs out here in this light, I'd love to be the one to keep it for you.

kind words

What couples & families say.

Elena was so calm and easy to be around that we genuinely forgot she was working. The photos came back and we both teared up — they look exactly like how the day felt.
Hannah & Will — Rockport, ME
Our kids do not sit still, ever, and somehow she got the most beautiful, real pictures of all four of them. The evening light at the harbor was unbelievable.
The Doyle Family — Camden, ME
We're awkward in front of cameras and dreaded the whole thing. Elena made it feel like a walk with a friend. The engagement gallery is the best either of us has ever looked.
Sofia & James — Belfast, ME
Maternity, then newborn, then first birthday — she's photographed all of it. Color-true, soft, never gimmicky. I trust her completely with the moments I can't get back.
Megan R. — Lincolnville, ME
