I'm Elena — the one behind the camera.
Twelve years of photographing the people and light of Midcoast Maine, and still no place I'd rather work.

I grew up on the Midcoast, where the light off the bay does something you don't find many other places — soft in the morning, gold and long by evening. I started photographing weddings here twelve years ago and never wanted to photograph them anywhere else.
My work is quiet and natural. I'm far more interested in the real laugh between the posed ones, and in light that flatters without anyone having to try. I'd rather catch the moment a grandfather wipes his eyes during the toast than line everyone up against a wall. That's the kind of picture you keep on the mantel for thirty years.
When I'm not shooting you'll likely find me on a trail above Camden harbor or hunting down the best coffee in town. If your day feels like it belongs out here in this light, I'd love to be the one to keep it for you.

A few things to know about me.
If these sound like the photographer you've been looking for, we'll get on well.
Light first, always
I plan sessions and timelines around when the light is best, not the other way around. It's the single biggest reason the images look the way they do.
Calm and unobtrusive
I'm not the photographer barking commands across the room. I stay soft and let the day breathe, and people relax because of it.
Local, through and through
Camden, Rockport, the islands, the back roads — I know this coast and where it's quietest and most beautiful at any hour.
Honest edits
Color-true, timeless, never trendy. I want these to look just as good in twenty years as they do the week they're delivered.
I'd love to hear about your day.
Tell me your date, where it's happening, and what you're imagining. I read every note myself.
